I am also a first time mom. I delivered at Albert Einstein Hospital in the Bronx. All of their post-partum rooms are private, which is awesome. I'm not sure if it cost extra or not because there is no other option there. There is lactation support at the hospital, but I was not able to use it because I delivered on a Friday evening and their lactation consultants only works Monday through Friday (so noone is arond on the weekends). However, many of the post-partum nurses are also lactation consultants (not officially with the hospital, but privately on their own) so are very helpful. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful there. My Ob/Gyn doctor is part of the Larchmont Women's Clinic affiliated with Einstein. They are all excellent doctors and have a wonderful reputation. And Einstein is also well known for their NICU, if you end up needing that. Best of luck!
