Malaysia, the court prohibits the use of the word "Allah" by Christians!

A court in Malaysia has ruled that non-Muslims can not use the word "Allah" to refer to God, thus overturning a decision of a lower court in 2009.

The Court of Appeal said that the term "Allah" should be exclusive to Islam, or else it could cause a public disturbance. In the local language, people of all faiths use the word "Allah" to refer to their gods.

Christians argue that they have used the word "Allah", which has entered into the local language from Arabic, describing the decision as a violation of their rights.

In 2009 court ruling caused many tensions in the country with churches and mosques were attacked.
